In it, the individual is taken into consideration only as a part of society. The remarriage is not marriage once a maiden is given in marriage. But it does not necessarily follow from this that a longer life must be more pleasurable and better. It was advancement only in a particular direction.
Besides the legislations, the freedom in mate selection has promoted inter-caste marriages. For example, caste system in India is a product of social evolution.
Romantic marriage, inter-caste marriage and late marriages are the effects of technology. Incessant changeability is very inherent nature of human society. In this manner the aims and the basis of marriage are undergoing changes.
The traditional nuclear family is the only correct and normal type of family — with a mother, father and children and clear cut roles between the male and female.
Not all changes imply progress. On the contrary, progress means change in a direction determined ideally. Whenever one finds that a large number of persons are engaged in activities that differ from those which their immediate forefathers were engaged in some time before, one finds a social change.
The stability of married life is gradually being affected. This double phenomenon is unprecedented in the history of man.
In some cases marriage partners are chosen by children. Technological innovations have changed the whole gamut of social and cultural life. In this sense, the people were homogenous.
This in turn leads to much greater diversity in family types — the traditional nuclear family is no longer dominant. But these social relationships are never permanent. These factors are treated independently, purely for purpose of understanding and we are not of the view that they can influence social change independent of other factors.
But today the situation is that some changes have taken place regarding the rites and rituals of marriage.
The area further developed when new business came to it with the formation of large business houses.Social change is the change in society and society is a web of social relationships.
